Quite a few comments on my last post asked me to share some of my poetry here on Jupe, and I am happy to oblige (although also somewhat terrified!)...I popped a poem in at the bottom of this post if you'd like to read it!
On your way to the bottom of the post, however, don't forget to admire these totally rad pants that cost $1.49 and feel like snuggling in pajamas 24/7. Yes, they are official 80s vintage. Yes, I love them and want to wear them every day. Yes, they are total grandma pants. But I've been convincing myself they don't look too terrible--after all, they inspired pants styles that are really trendy now--I'm just rocking the originals.
Falling Outwards
You
looking at me with adoration
is thin to
burst by bite
like an
apple skin--
the
beneath white flesh
my tongue runs against
is bitter,
unripe,
with the
peeling taint of arsenic.
Stroking a butterfly’s wing,
small,
bright-coloured scales
stick to your fingertips;
which is
like you touching me.
And in
yours like the sky,
my eyes
find
the blue
unattainable.
Listen to
water rushing away,
not at all the sound of water rushing inward,
and you will
hear yourself speaking
happiness
to me.

Your pants are totally awesome. I can't believe they were less than $2. That's less than the amount I spent on my coffee this morning. My coffee is now gone, but you still have these cool pants. Such a win!

You look great, I cannot believe what a bargain those trousers were! That was such a lovely poem too xxx
ReplyDeleteYou are so sweet, but I can't imagine why you'd wish for my figure when yours is already so darling! You're tiny! Gosh, I love those pants on you! They do look 80s, but you styled them so that you look very chic and modern, not like you should be carrying around a foot-long cell phone on your way to get a perm.
ReplyDeleteThat poem. Oh my goodness. It's breathtaking, it really is. You have a talent that I long for.
May the force be with you.
